Good things come in small packages.

Michelle Olaya, currently portrayed in our zine #5, made her own zine happen the classic way: black and white on copied paper. It was issued in Summer 2015 and features a letter from the editor, interviews with RISK IT and THE ICEMEN and two concert reviews.

Since Michelle is an awesome (concert) photographer, it is only logical she puts her thoughts on paper. I myself I am not such a big fan of show reviews, since most of the time, they tend to be kind of “all the same” in the end…. band 1 played, people were moving and then band 2 played, people were moshing, everything was cool (or not). 😀 Michelle’s memories of those two nights are a cool read, even though I have a hard time reading texts that are all caps. 😉

I might be outing myself for living under a rock, in a cave, at the end of the world – but I have no effing clue who THE ICEMEN are 😛 so this interview was not too interesting to me, sorry, Michelle, just a matter of taste. Same is valid for RISK IT! I know, people go crazy over them, but they are just not pushing any buttons for me. To make up for that, I enjoyed THE CHOOSING GAME with several guys from bands (no clit in this pit, too bad 😀 ) although I would have maybe arranged the anwers differently. Just my five cents.

So in order to come back to Michelle’s opening statement: I really do hope we see each other again (zine-wise) and in person someday ❤ thanks for your diy spirit.

Keep on keeping on!
