Aus der drittgrößten Stadt Japan`s namens Osaka kommt diese relativ neue Punk Rock Band.

Relativ deshalb, weil sie sich Anfang 2015 gegründet haben und Mitte 2017 ihre erste Demo veröffentlicht haben.

Ich muss ehrlich gestehen das ich außer Heaven In Her Arms und Envy mich überhaupt nicht mit der asiatischen Hardcore Szene auseinandergesetzt habe.

Beim Internet durchforsten fiel aber dann doch auf das es eine größere (Vegan) Straight Edge Szene gibt.

In dieser bewegen sich auch Violent Technologies.

Gespielt wird solider Punk Rock mit japanischen Texten.

Bei mir hat es ein wenig gedauert bis ich mich an die Sprache und besonders den Gesangsstil von Sänger xhirokazux gewöhnt habe.

Irgendwie eine Mischung aus Singen und Sprechen, aber halt nichts halbes und nicht ganzes.

Selbst nach vielen Durchläufen kann ich mich nicht richtig entscheiden was ich davon halten soll.

Musikalisch ist das sehr eingängig und erinnert mich an 3 Akkorde 77er Punk, aber halt mehr in Richtung Rock als Hardcore.

Zum Glück gibt es bei den Lyrics auf Bandcamp gleich noch die Übersetzungen ins Englische dazu.

Wie es sich für eine XVX Band gehört, drehen sich die meisten Texte um Tierrechte und Umweltschutz, wo hier besonders der Song über Palmöl Beachtung finden sollte. Super das sich eine Band mal mit einem Lied dem Thema widmet.

Im Endeffekt ist auch mal sehr erfrischend eine Vegan Straight Edge Band zu finden die nicht Youth Crew HC spielt, sondern mal etwas Abwechslung reinbringt.

I have to say that I know nothing about the asian scene, except for Heaven In Her Arms or Envy.

While I was looking through the internet I found out that there is a strong (Vegan) Straight Edge movement.

In this scene you can find Violent Technologies.

They are playing solid Punk Rock with japanese lyrics.

I have to be honest that it took some time for me do get along with the language and the style of singing from the vocalist xhirokazux.

It’s a mix between speaking and singing and even after some listenings I’m not sure how to feel about it.

Musically it’s catchy and reminds me of three chords 77′ Punk Rock, but in the direction of Rock and not Hardcore.

Luckily there are translations of the lyrics on their bandcamp site.

As it should be for a XVX band the lyrics are about animal rights and the protection of the nature.

There is one song special, which is about palm oil. This is awesome, because I don’t know one song with this theme.

In the end it’s refreshing to find a Vegan Straight Edge band, who don’t play Youth Crew Hardcore. (Don’t get me wrong. I love Youth Crew HC)
