Besser spät als nie. Eigentlich sollte die EP von GAEA mein erstes Review werden, nun ist es Nummer 24. GAEA ist einigen vielleicht schon bekannt aus dem Interview in Heft #5. Ein vielbeschäftiger Mensch und für mich persönlich ein ganz wichtiger, da er Drummer der Band Together war, welche mich zum Straight Edge gebracht hat. Anstatt Hardcore gibt es hier aber politischen Hip Hop. Thematisch dreht es sich dann auch um Veganismus, das eigene Konsumverhalten und viel PMA! Die Ep versprüht allgemein ein positives Feeling. Ziemlich laid-back und nicht aggressiv gerappt. Die Samples tragen auch ihren Teil dazu bei. Akustikgitarren und Mundharmonikas, wie zum Beispiel in „Mantheno-me Positivo“ Gerappt wird übrigens auf Portugiesisch, aber auf der Bandcampseite gibt es auch die Übersetzungen.

Tolle EP und ich hoffe auf ein baldiges Album.

Better late than never. My plan was that GAEA’s EP should be my first review, now it’s #24. Maybe a few of you will know GAEA from his interview in Zine #5. He’s a very busy human and a special person for me. He is the drummer of TOGETHER who brought me to Straight Edge. Thank you, Miguel! With his project GAEA he plays political Hip-Hop nowadays and no Hardcore anymore. The themes are about Veganism (for sure), consumerism and much PMA. This EP gives you a good feeling while hearing. Laid-back and not an aggressive rap style. I love the samples he uses. For example, Acoustic Guitars and a Harmonica in „Mantheno-me Positivo“. The language is portuguese, but there is a translation at the Bandcamp site. Overall this is an awesome EP and I hope there is a LP coming soon.
